![]() ![]() "Pretty much any article, blog or social post about our Affinity apps now seems to attract a rush of comments from users asking why we don't make them available on Windows. Well, I'm really excited to finally reveal we are working on it and the development team are making incredibly rapid progress." said Ashley Hewson, Serif's Managing Director. They have also received some serious recognition from Apple themselves having won a Design Award in July, and Affinity Photo being chosen as their best app of 2015 in December last year.īut the fact they have only been available on Mac has caused frustration for PC users, and the company has been inundated with requests to produce Windows versions. The Affinity apps-which currently include Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo-have enjoyed tremendous success over the last 12 months with both apps regularly charting in the top 10 of the Mac App Store and gaining 1,000s of 5 star reviews from users. NOTTINGHAM, UK – Ma– Serif is delighted to announce that it will be bringing its highly regarded, multi award-winning Affinity creative apps to Windows. We’ll have to wait and see a bit how the early hands-on reviews rate this new DJI Osmo Action 4 though compared to the GoPro, but with a similar price point for each, they’re undoubtedly going to be contrasted with each other for some time - and may ultimately come down to your brand affiliations and loyalties.Affinity applications are coming to Windows ![]() Built-In Mics for Stereo Audio Recording.HorizonBalance & HorizonSteady Leveling.Front & Back Color Touchscreen Displays. But we’ll let the specs speak for themselves if you'd like to check them out below. ![]() The Action 4 should also shine in low light situations, which are indeed needed for many travel and run-and-gun content creators looking to test the “action” aspects of these action cams. With this improved d-range (a contraction I just invented), color should be that much more clear and vivid with better temperature calibration and some highly intelligent auto-exposure and white balance features. The biggest calling cards for this new DJI Action 4 are its high-definition video capabilities and its wide dynamic range. The DJI Osmo Action 4 continues its focus on rough-and-tumble video and photo use with its RockSteady and HorizonSteady stabilization systems, a fully waterproof camera body, a quick release mount and pretty much all of the dual screen and USB-C charging cable/ports as before. With this sensor we still only get 4K video, but at 120p and 10-bit HDR it should be quite cinematic, especially when combined with the D-Log M and its improved dynamic range. ![]() This 1/1.3-inch sensor is a decent improvement on its previous 1/1.7-inch sensor. The biggest improvement is the larger 1/1.3-inch sensor which is the same one DJI uses in many of their drones (like the Air 3, the Mini 3 Pro and even the Mavic 3 Pro). But, in this camera market we’ve certainly seen quicker updates and releases, so it’s not absolutely unheard of - still outside of a few key specs, its essentially the same camera as before in terms of shooting features. With less than a year of R&D time, it is a bit odd that DJI would rush out a newer version of its Osmo Action so quickly. With 1.8, Affinity Photo and Designer continue its single file format allowing files to seamlessly work with Affinity Publisher via StudioLink technology. It also sees updated vector and raster brushes, keyboard brush settings modifiers, improved functionality when selecting a large number of objects as well as Node/Pen Tool improvements for Reverse Curve, Curve Orientation, and more. New brushes, metadata editing, improved JPEG encoding, and better colors for HDR authoring are all part of the update.Īffinity Designer receives an improved vector engine, Boolean and Geometry operation, more template document presets, a new stock panel, and an updated Pantone library to name a few. Version 1.8 also offers manual lens correction override for manual lenses, improved plugin support which now includes the Nik collection, there's a bump in RAW processing for batch processing and added support for Canon’s CR3 RAW, among others. The update adds a number of welcomed improvements and changes.Īffinity Photo could always import and export PSD files, but now it can import smart objects and maintain all editable layers. Version 1.8 brings dozens of new features including smart object PSD import for Photo, while Publisher sees IDML compatibility for importing Adobe InDesign files. Serif updated all three of its creative apps, including Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, and Affinity Publisher. ![]()
